Volunteer diaries – Zeynep

It’s been 2 months since my arrival to Spain. Time is too fast. I can’t believe that 2 months already passed. This is a good and a bad situation.. I woke up this morning with the news that the curfew was extended. Moreover, the situation in my own country is getting worse. While all this is happening, we continue our activities online.

I keep getting used to and exploring here I also understand the Siesta application better now hahaJ. I attended an arrival training this month. We came together with volunteers from other countries. We discovered our commonalities and practiced Spanish. I would like to spend time face to face with them. But even though, it was fun. Maybe we will get the chance to meet in the future.

I attended some activities in espai jove silla this month. I had a really active and fun time. Doing activities rather than online interaction makes me feel good and useful. Also when I go shopping or order something, I try to speak Spanish and I think that I started to understand and learn the Spanish language better. (I doing if I’m not excited)

I attended a conference about erasmus plus in Quart de Poblet. It was an informative conference about the European Solidarity corps. I want to add that May 9th was european day. I am not a citizen of a European country, but thank you very much to Amics for taking me part in this project. Thank you for giving me this experience.

Finally, this week is Feast of Ramadan and I will celebrate it for the first time away from my family. It’s a different feeling for me.
