A new adventure

Living alone in a different country for nine months is both exciting and challenging. I’ve moved to Valencia and it’s a whole new experience for me. I’m learning to find my way around, speak a different language and enjoy a new culture.

When I arrived, I was nervous, but the people here have been really friendly. I received such a warm welcome and was taken to Quart de Poblet, where I met other members of the organization Amics. From there, I took a taxi to Puerto de Sagunto. After settling in a bit, I had some free time to explore the area. In the picture, you can see where I went first: yes, the beach! One of the best parts of my time here has been the beach. On my first day, I went straight there and spent hours relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view.

I’m also really happy about my roommate! We get along very well and it’s nice to have someone to share this experience with.

I’ve had a lot of free time in my first month, so I’ve been exploring Valencia. I visited amazing places like the City of Arts and Sciences and the Mercado Central. Wandering through the streets has been so much fun and I’ve discovered many cute cafes and parks.

I’m also looking forward to Halloween. The city is getting ready for the celebrations and I’ve joined in by helping with some crafts.
