Alexander, from Hungary

Hello everyone!

My name’s Alexander, I’m 19 years old and from Hungary. I’m going to be a volunteer in Silla for the next 9 months and that I’m thrilled about. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to Spain before, but I’ve always been fascinated by the country, the culture, and especially the language, so I eagerly look forward to finally fulfilling one of my childhood dreams – living in Spain.

I’ve already been working with a partner organization of Amics here in Hungary, and I’ve been told nothing but great tales about the team, so I’m really excited to experience this myself. Given the current situation in the world, I’m aware that we may face some hardships here and there during my stay, but this only motivates me more to put in the effort to help the organization and people in general to the best of my ability.

It may be difficult to foresee what kind of events we’ll be able to organize or attend, but I consider myself quite an all-rounder, so I’m really looking forward to partaking in pretty much whatever may come – especially if it’s something where I can actively speak and perform since I usually like to wag my chin, sometimes a bit too much to be frank.

I will obviously miss my family and friends, but I’m sure I’ll meet great people in Spain, too. And I’ve only got a week left before hopping the plane to start yet the most exciting journey of my life – I’d rather have landed by now. Until then, take care, folks.
