Traditions from tomorrow – Hungary’24 (by Sophie P.)
This Erasmus exchange has been very special for me due to plenty of reasons. I will
start off with the location.
The whole town, forest and overall landscapes were just breathtaking for a Spaniard
like me who is used to dry hills. The town is so different to what we have in Spain it got
me amazed all time. The weather, mud, rainy days and usual fog gave me the perfect
winter feeling I always love and miss in my country. I’d say this is the one of the best
places for an Erasmus to be made at. In a nutshell, Hollókő is a magical movie-like
place. Moreover, the house we stayed in was very comfortable and had everything for
our needs.
Well, in this meeting I’ve had the luck of being able to meet again some friends I made
in Moraira and that has been so special to me. The people from the Hungarian team are
some of the best people I’ve ever met, and seeing those girls again is just a dream. As I
have a close relationship with some of them, being able to hug again has been a dream
come true. Moreover, even though we didn’t know the other teams, and some of them
had some difficulties regarding English, we still managed to befriend them. They
happened to be kind and loving people. I feel like us, the Spanish people, quite inspired
them to open up and mix up with other people thanks to our charming and extroverted
personalities.
In this Erasmus we’ve learnt about so many different cultures and ways of living. That
has been so interesting. Seeing how other cultures live is something I believe is
important to know. We have also explored the forest, (got lost sometimes as well), the
town and its traditions, learnt in fun ways about other countries (had some unknown
delicious food), practiced our English, made new friends…
All of the people were very keen on participating, even the leaders! I also liked the
organization of the days; everyone was on time and the activities were always prepared
in time as well. The schedule had many free time hours and that is just perfect.
The only thing I have left to say is that I must thank Amics for reuniting me with my
beloved friends and for selecting me for this trip.
