November-December
This month was packed with exciting experiences. My arrival training took place online, but I was fortunate to travel to Alicante with another volunteer, Simona. This gave us the chance to explore the beauty of the city together, making the experience truly special and gave me also the opportunity to see a friend who also does her volunteer year in Spain. The training itself was fascinating. I had the opportunity to meet new people and learn about their projects and experiences. We engaged in a discussion about the cultural nuances of other countries and explored the various erasmus programmes that are available.
Another highlight was the comic festival, where I got to participate in activities with children. It was so delightful to see how much fun the kids were having and how creative they were. At the same time the christmas spirit had already started to set in. We are currently busy crafting christmas decorations, which is a lot of fun and really put us all in a festive mood.
Speaking of christmas: The christmas lights in Valencia were an absolute highlight! It was a truly memorable moment when all the lights were turned on at once. The city was bathed in a magical atmosphere and everyone was in high spirits.
Over a long weekend I visited a friend in Elche. A friend from Vienna also joined us, which made the weekend even more special. We made the most of our time by catching up and exploring the area. I am also glad to be in Spain right now, where the sun shines during the day. In Vienna, it’s mostly rainy and very cold. Though I can tell that I already need my winter jacket now!
