My second month as a volunteer
Hola!
My second month as a volunteer has just passed, and I have to say—it was quite different from the first one. I’ve settled more into the routine, had my first doubts, but also experienced many highlights.
Valencia has become much more peaceful after Las Fallas, which I really appreciate. Everyday life is smoother now. This month, the other volunteers and I had our online training, which surprisingly turned out to be really good (even though “online training” doesn’t exactly sound exciting). It was actually quite vulnerable and meaningful.
I’ve also started working more in the actual museum, which makes me really happy. We often run workshops for kids, which I truly enjoy. I still have some office tasks, but they’re fewer than before.
Outside of work, I’m really enjoying living here. I feel like I’m getting to know Valencia more and more (I no longer need Google Maps to get around!). This past month, I also explored areas outside the city like Montanejos, Buñol, and Cullera. Surprisingly, all of those trips included hiking—and even more surprisingly, I really enjoyed it.
The weather is getting better, and thankfully, there are no more flood warnings. I’m really looking forward to more new experiences and adventures!
