April: the arrival training

The training experience at the hostel in Lekaroz was intense and engaging, characterized by a combination of educational activities, moments of socialization, and personal discoveries. The journey began with a long trip to Pamplona, followed by the arrival at the hostel, where I got to know the other participants through interactive games and convivial evenings.

In the following days, activities alternated between Spanish lessons, group exercises, and intercultural reflections. The other participants and I took part in energizing games to break the ice and engaged in creative projects that pushed us to collaborate and communicate in innovative ways. Among the highlights were simulations of imaginary cultural exchanges and presentations about our home countries, enriched by the sharing of experiences and stereotypes.

The training was enhanced by practical activities such as a treasure hunt and roleplay that simulated conflict situations in the context of volunteering. Each day also included reflections on the meaning of volunteering, personal goals, and the skills we had acquired.

One of the most memorable moments was the excursion to the waterfalls, an opportunity to strengthen bonds with other participants, enjoy nature, and live a unique experience, culminating in a group swim under the icy water. The evenings, on the other hand, were dedicated to socialization, including films, board games, and outings to local bars.

The last day was devoted to evaluating the entire experience, with an emotional video summarizing the highlights of the five days. The farewells with the participants were heartfelt, followed by the journey back home, filled with reflections on the value of the experience.

This program was not just a training opportunity but also a journey of personal and cultural growth. I was able to challenge myself, create meaningful connections, and acquire useful tools for my volunteering journey.
