My may in Spain

The month of May was filled with various events, both pleasant and not so much, but I prefer to focus on the positive ones. Throughout the month, we continued visiting the Los Institutos in Quart de Poblet to provide a Punto de Información for teenagers and to tell them about the many activities that Quart Jove is offering for the summer, including the camp and different types of sports.

Together with team, we developed a plan and weekly activities for the summer camp that will take place in July. We are now actively preparing detailed files for each activity, including all the necessary materials and descriptions.

On May 9th, for Europe Day, we also held an activity in Quart de Poblet where we promoted international exchanges, ESC volunteering, and other opportunities that Europe offers for young people to grow, gain experience, and broaden their horizons.

We also had two sessions with the Consejo Municipal de Infancia y Adolescencia, where psychologists were invited to talk with teenagers about important topics such as suicide, bullying, harassment, etc. Together, we reflected on the question: What brings happiness into our lives? Hobbies, interests, family, home, sports, communication, and so on.
I believe it was a very valuable and insightful moment of self-reflection and thinking about such important topics.

Also, this month we had Quart de Nit, where we organized activities such as:

  • Balonmano (Handball)
  • Infectado (Tag-style game)
  • Board games
  • Canvas painting
  • Dance
  • Cooking

Additionally, on May 24–25, the Feria de las Asociaciones took place in Quart de Poblet, in which Casas de Juventud Quart de Poblet and Amics participated. Each organization had the chance to present and promote themselves, their activities, and their projects.

Finally, just yesterday during a CMIA session, we discussed an environmental project. Teenagers shared their ideas on how we can have a positive impact on the environment and promote sustainability.
