June☀️
Phew! June was so bright and eventful that the main thing is not to forget to write everything down.
This month, we wrapped up our work in children’s centers, as the kids are now going on summer break. On June 11, we had an educational session with the children from CMIA (Consejo Municipal de Infancia y Adolescencia) related to an environmental project. In Quart de Poblet, we learned more about plants, planted them, played a quiz, took photos of everything related to nature and pollution, and shared our thoughts with other participants. It was both fun and educational!
I was also invited by the Ayuntamiento to attend a meeting with Ukrainians living in Quart de Poblet, called “Creating New Connections.” It was an initiative aimed at strengthening relationships among Ukrainians and building a Ukrainian community. On the same day, we had the “Quart de Nit” event. This time it took place in a new location — the Municipal Pool of Quart de Poblet. All the teenagers were incredibly happy to enjoy swimming in the pool. We also made healthy drinks, bracelets, held a mini tattoo and braiding workshop. The event was a great success!
After that, we had a meeting where we reviewed everything, assessed the event, and collected statistics. Then we started preparing for the summer camp. I’m part of the campamento infantil team. I observed how the camp program is created, contributed my own ideas, and also helped prepare costumes, since the theme of our camp is SpongeBob.
The camp has already been going on for two weeks, and I can confidently say that I really enjoy it. Every day I’m happy to spend time with the children and be involved in the whole process. During the first week, I worked with a group of 6–7-year-olds, and in the second week, I’ve been gaining experience working with younger children aged 3–4. There are also Ukrainian children at the camp whom I support and assist, as they don’t understand Spanish very well.
Stepping away from work and talking a bit about my leisure time — this month, I also flew to Germany to visit my family. I had a lot of emotions and discovered new places. Back in Valencia, my friends and I went to an amusement park to add a bit of adrenaline to our lives.
In general, I could write a lot more, but I should probably save something for next time. So, thank you for your attention!
