Learning and living through June’s summer heat
June arrived bringing with it the true summer heat the kind that wraps around you from the morning and doesn’t let go until late in the evening. The days felt endless, bright, almost infinite. And right in the middle of this slow, sun-drenched atmosphere, I experienced one of the most meaningful moments of the past few months: my second in-person ESC training, this time in Malaga.
It was a different experience from the first one maybe a bit more mature. Between activities, with the sun beating down and conversations flowing naturally, I got the chance to dive deeper into what it really means to be part of the ESC. I discovered new volunteering projects happening all across Spain, each with its own stories, faces, and challenges. And then, in between workshops and group reflections, there were pool dives too a perfect way to cool off, share a few laughs, and connect even more with people who, despite our differences, are on a similar journey.
As the days went by, I started to feel the need for a small change of scenery. So I took a short trip back home to visit my family and catch up with friends. It was a simple, refreshing break that gave me a bit of balance and helped me recharge before diving back into the rhythm of everyday life.
June left me with the taste of true summer made of sweat, smiles, reflections, and a few dives. And as July moves forward, I carry with me everything I’ve learned, experienced, and felt during these full and intense weeks.
