My Second Month in Spain

My second month in Spain has been a very enriching experience. I keep learning new things every day and I feel more and more comfortable living here.
This month, I spent time exploring the city, discovering new shops and places, which made me walk a lot — and also take the wrong metro quite a few times. I attended the first meeting with all the Amics volunteers in a park on a Sunday afternoon, which was a great opportunity to share experiences.
I also went out to a bar with new friends, met the mayor of the city, had a short conversation with her, and took a photo. In addition, I had the chance to meet Arturo from La Casa de Papel in a club, and to attend a showcase of a well-known French rapper.

During my free time, I climbed the tower of a church to see an amazing view of Valencia, visited the Fine Arts Museum, and joined a gym, where I now go regularly. For Halloween, I dressed up as a character from La Casa de Papel and took part in the first “Quart de Nit” event, surrounded by teenagers, which was a very good experience.
Finally, I also tried the cookies from Keksy, which are very popular here. Overall, this month has been full of discoveries, learning, and great moments. I’m looking forward to continuing this experience in the coming months.

During this second month, I have also noticed great progress in my personal learning. Thanks to my work, speaking Spanish every day, and being in contact with teenagers, I have become much more confident when speaking another language. I have also learned a lot of new vocabulary and started to express myself more naturally.
Little by little, I have found my place both in Quart de Poblet and in Valencia. I now feel more independent and comfortable moving around the city and communicating with people.
Another important part of this experience has been meeting new friends from different countries and languages. Sharing moments and conversations with them has helped me grow and understand new cultures.
I really enjoy living in Valencia — it’s a beautiful, lively city full of energy, culture, and kind people. Every day here is a new opportunity to learn something, and I truly feel grateful to be part of this project.
