December in Valencia: festive routines and small coincidences

December brought a busier rhythm back to my daily routine, especially at the Museo Histórico del Ayuntamiento. Inside the Ayuntamiento building, a traditional Nativity scene was set up, attracting many local visitors who came to see it. As a result, the museum became livelier, with more people and interactions throughout the day.

Alongside work, December was also a month of shared moments with colleagues before leaving for the Christmas holidays. I had the chance to enjoy several lunches together, which felt like a nice way to spend time and say goodbye before my departure. With some of them, I also tried the famous pulpo a la gallega, a small but memorable experience that highlighted how comfortable and natural these relationships had become.

During the month, I visited the Casa Museo Blasco Ibáñez, where I learned more about Valencian culture and history. A curious detail made the visit especially meaningful: the museum officially opened on the exact same day and year I was born. It was a simple coincidence, but one that made me feel unexpectedly connected to the place.

As Christmas approached, the festive atmosphere slowly filled the city. Streets were decorated with lights, Christmas markets appeared, and ice-skating rinks were set up around Valencia. Toward the end of the month, I travelled back to Italy to spend Christmas with my family. After many months away, returning home during such a special time felt comforting and helped me recharge before the final part of my experience.
