A Taste of Spring in February

February was the month that spring made a quick appearance. The grey winter days suddenly gave way to blue skies and warm afternoons, making it impossible not to spend more time outside. You could feel the town slowly waking up again, with people filling the terraces and the first real hints that winter was coming to an end.

Besides enjoying the gorgeous weather I went to Marrakesh for a long weekend with a friend. It was a complete change of scenery — busy souks, beautiful colors everywhere, and the smell of spices on every corner. In just a few days we managed to wander through the medina, eat far too much good food, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

Halfway through the month we also celebrated Carnaval at the TOLA centre in Silla during Ocio. Everyone came dressed up and the room quickly filled with music, laughter and plenty of dancing. It was one of those afternoons where you could really feel how much everyone enjoyed being together and celebrating.

Valencia is starting to become livelier every week with Fallas around the corner. It’s nice to see how the atmosphere in the town changes as the celebrations get closer, and to experience it while being part of the activities at the centre.
