May in Puerto
My May started off in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) so I really can’t complain about it. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to visit an island that was in my bucket list ever since I found out about it. I tried to visit as much as possible, but there is so much variety in the landscapes, in the cities and the beaches that it would take much more time than I had. The climate and the nature are unique, I’ve never experienced anything similar to them and it’s just so strange to think about all the different species of plants and animals that exist out there. Picking out just one favourite thing is sending my brain into a short circuit, but I’d say that the black sand volcanic beaches are what impressed me the most.
After I came back I had a friend from Italy visiting me and that is always heart filling. Having people who come from other countries here just to share their time with me makes me appreciate this experience on a whole different level, I’m simply beyond grateful and blessed to have these amazing souls in my life and although it’s hard being away from them, when we see each other it’s like no time passed.
Towards the end of the month I had to go to Mollina, close to Malaga, to complete my midterm training. There were so many people (and so many Italians), but we got divided into smaller groups and I have to say I loved mine. I had a wonderful mentor who had a different approach, at first it was a little weird, but doing strange activities with strangers is always fun and made us bond quickly. We also had the chance to visit Malaga one afternoon and the city is definitely worth a visit, I hope to go back there one day.
Work wise it was less busy because due to some changes in the contracts of the staff most activities stopped, but I kept my weekly sessions with the teenagers groups and loved every minute of it.
