Right now, I am sitting in my favourite parc and realise how fast time passes. One month ago, I arrived in sunny Spain, and I now live in a cute town called Silla, which is near to Valencia. I am 19 years old, just graduated high school and decided it was time for me to try something completely new. Therefor the ESC program seemed perfect, and it confirmed. Of course, coming here was challenging as it is my first time abroad and I only know some bits of Spanish, still that has not been an issue and my language skills improve slowly. (As Spanish people would say „poco a poco”).
Besides loving the city, I also enjoy working at TOLA, which is a facility for disabled people. On my way to the center I felt excited but very nervous as I lack experience in that working field. Yet the second I entered TOLA all my doubts vanished as everyone was very open, curious, and extremely welcoming. I instantly felt comfortable there and I absolutely enjoy my tasks, which are helping at Zumba classes, Nordic walking, going for walks and assisting the physiotherapist.
This month was amazing as I got to know some people, learned about the Spanish culture, explored Valencia, and enjoyed every bit of it. I am really excited for the upcoming months in beautiful Spain.
